Gujarat is a state with many colors. The vibrant culture, rich heritage, glorious history, architectural marvels, scenic landscapes, breath-taking locations make Gujarat variegated in terms of its beauty and attractions. Gujarat is home to rich fauna and flora which serve as a veritable treat for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Also, Gujarat has been home to many celebrated legendary and historical personalities such as Dwarka Naresh, Lord Krishna and apostle of peace, Mahatma Gandhi.
Day 1 : Arrive Ahmedabad
Upon arrival at Ahmedabad railway station/airport, you’ll be received by our tour representative who transfers you to hotel. Check in and relax for some time. Later, we proceed on the city tour of Ahmedabad, one of Gujarat’s busiest cities. Sites like Calico museum, Jami mosque, Gandhi Ashram, Utensils museum, Swaminarayan Akshardham temple are covered in today’s sightseeing agenda. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.
Day 2 : Excursion to Modhera & Patan & back to Ahmedabad
Next morning, after breakfast we make an excursion to Modhera to enjoy the sight of the famous Modhera Sun temple. This temple is dedicated to Surya Dev or Sun God and reflects splendid architectural excellence of the Solankis. This temple was set up around the 11th century and its architectural design is such that its sanctum is touched by the first rays of the rising sun during equinoxes. After, Modhera we visit Patan well known for its Jain temples amounting to over 100 in number. The most prominent among those is the Temple of Mahavir Swami Derasar with its magnificently sculpted wooden dome. We also visit the famous Rani ki vav, an underground step well which speaks volumes of Gujarat’s subterranean architectural excellence. Back to hotel at Ahmedabad for dinner and night stay.
Day 3 : Ahmedabad – Bhavnagar
Next day post breakfast, we leave for Bhavnagar en route Lothal where you get an unforgettable experience viewing the Harappan archaeological excavation site. On reaching Bhavnagar, check into hotel, rest and relax thoroughly to overcome the fatigue of journey. Evening you could stroll across Bhavnagar’s local bazaars.
Day 4 : Bhavnagar – Excursion to Palithana – Bhavnagar
Next day after breakfast, we make an excursion to the temple town of Palitana only to get awe struck by the several ornate temples which rival each other in terms of beauty, architectural intricacies and magnificence. The temples are located atop the hill Shatrunjaya and one has to climb nearly 3500 steps to reach the Palitana temple town. Back to hotel at Bhavnagar for dinner and night stay.
Day 5 : Bhavnagar to Sasan Gir 222kms | approx 5hrs drive
Next morning, we leave for Sasangir, the famous dwelling place to the very rare Asiatic Lions. Reach Sasan Gir; check into hotel and you have the entire day left to yourself to spend at leisure.
Day 6 : At Sasangir
Today after breakfast we proceed towards Gir National Park which is home to the famed Asiatic lions. The sanctuary consists in dense deciduous forests and grasslands which offer a congenial natural habitat not only to lions but also to other animals such as Leopards, Nilgai, Chital, Hyena, Sambar etc and birds such as peacocks, painted sand grouse etc. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.
Day 7 : Sasangir to Diu 130kms | approx 3hrs of drive
Next day we hit the road for Diu, the enchanting beach city. On reaching, check into hotel. You have the entire day to spend at leisure and laze away your time on the scenic beaches of Diu. Dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 8 : At Diu
Next day, after breakfast we set out to explore the famed Horse shoe beach and Nagoya beach which give you ample scope to relax and indulge in some exciting water sports. Afterwards we move on to visit Diu Fort, Diu Museum and St Paul’s Church.
Day 9 : Departure Diu-Veraval 90kms | 1 and ½ hours of drive approx
Next morning, you are transferred to Veraval railway station and you proceed for your onward journey back home with lots of scintillating memories of the tour.
