This sight when teamed up with the colourful vibrancy of the traditional performances taking place amidst the white land is an experience one cannot afford to miss out on.
Day 01: Arrival in Bhuj – Mandvi
Upon your arrival at Bhuj, the heart of rich ecology and wildlife, you will be checked in to you hotel before heading out for a relaxing excursion of Mandvi beach. At this white sand beach you can go for fun beach activities, swim in the cool water or just sit by the seashore and have some locally made snacks. You will then be taken to the famous summer palace Vijay Vilas Palace, which is located right next to the beach and also includes some part of the Mandvi beach.In the evening you can go for a religious visit to Ambe dham situated at Godhra village, which is a chief tourist attraction housing some extraordinary exhibitions dedicated to Hindu as well as different religions. On your way back from Mandvi you will be taken for a darshan at the famous Jain centre of pilgrimage of 72 Jinalaya mandir, which is dedicated to 72 different deris of Lord Vishnu.After a day of fun activities and religious enlightenment, you will be taken back to Bhuj, which is located at a distance of 1 hour 7 mines, where you will be spending your night.Pro Tip:Be sure to carry an extra set of clothing since you will be visiting the beach and travelling the same day.Do not litter any place you go. Keep the locations in their ever pristine condition.
Day 02: Mandvi – Narayan Sarovar – Koteshwar – Bhuj
Today your 3 hours journey towards Koteshwar will commence. You will first be taken for an early morning darshan at Maa Ashapura mandir who is known to fulfill their devotee’s wishes. You will then immediately be escorted to Narayan Sarovar, which is at a distance of 100 km from Bhuj and is held highly for its religious significance. The entire region of Narayan Sarovar is dotted with ancient and magnificent group of 7 stone temples. Having being mentioned in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, these temples have gained immense religious importance.Finally you will be taken to Koteshwar, a small village location developed around the famous Lord Shiva mandir. The square reservoir present here serves as the place for people performing Shraddh ceremony or taking a dip to cool off.During the evening time you will be attending the pious Koteshwar mahadev mandir, post which you will be taken back to your hotel in Bhuj.
Day 03: Bhuj – white Rann
Post breakfast you will proceed towards the white desert of Rann. Here you will experience the traditional way of living by checking in to a Bhunga (a cylindrical house with thatched roof) type of accommodation. You will also be served some locally made kutchi style of food like, osaman, teliya batata, kobi na muthiya and much more.You will then be taken for a brief tour of the place like, the highest point in Kutch, Kalo Dungar, which gives a panoramic view of the white salt land. You will also be taken for a heritage visit to the traditional village of Khavda, located at a distance of 66 km from Bhuj, which is home to some of the traditional artisans, potters and leather craftsmen.The evening time will be reserved for you to return to the hotel at Bhuj and attend the cultural music and dance performances by the locals.
Day 04: Bhuj – Departure
Post breakfast you will be made to visit Jesal Toral Samadhi, which is dedicated to two characters of an ancient love story and their coffins are present here which the visitors adorn every time they visit.You will then be made to visit Bhujodi village where one can go on a shopping spree for traditionally made handicrafts, block printed clothing items, and a variety of other traditionally created works of art.Your final stop of the day, before proceeding towards your allotted departure spot, will be the magnificent Aina mahal, where the walls are covered in golden laces and intricate glass works.
